AMERAM AEROMIXERS SPREADING ON ORKNEY

Many farmers on Orkney are becoming aware that installing an Ameram Aeromixer system in their slatted cellars will solve the problems which many encountered when mixing and emptying their slurry stores.

Since 2004 Ameram Ltd has supplied 15 Aeromixer systems for installation in slatted cellars on Orkney and the islands.

One satisfied customer, Mr. Richard Jarvis of Westray, reports that having done extensive research on the Internet, regarding mixing the slurry in his new slatted cellar, he discovered the Ameram Aeromixer system which would mix the slurry safely and provide him with a product that was ready to spread without the need for extensive and costly prior mixing.

Richard Jarvis reports that the installation was completed by himself, with the aid of an illustrated installers' manual and a few phone calls to Ameram for advice, and was a relatively simple and smooth process

He states that Ameram Ltd. were very helpful in sorting out any teething problems that occurred, such as caused by the 'uneven' electrical supply.  This necessitated the use of a different control unit which, once installed, solved the problem.

Richard says "The Ameram Aeromixer certainly does 'what it says on the tin' and I have already introduced several Orcadian farmers to the system.

AEROMIXER FOR HARPER ADAMS UNIVERSITY COLLEGE

Ameram Ltd is proud to have completed the installation of our Aeromixer system in a 33.3m.dia. x 8.4m.high digestate tank at Harper Adams Universiry College.  The digestate is one of the by-products of the anaerobic digester biogas plant which will generate heat and power from farm and food waste.
To enable over 8m. depth of sludge to be mixed effectively we have used a hook-and-claw type compressor unit, which is capable of delivering up to 100m3 air, at up to 1.4 bar pressure, with very low noise levels. Using the Ameram patented air-driven rotary distribution valve system with a hook-and-claw compressor unit, and blowing not more than 4 air outlets at a time, the Aeromixer system keeps over 6,000m3 digestate well mixed using just 32kW per day.
Early in the New Year a covering of Aerocover will be applied to the digestate tank.  The Aerocover was chosen by Harper Adams to prevent odour and ammonia emissions.

AEROCOVER - NO MORE SMELL!

Following successful independent trials Aerocover has recently been used, very successfully, to reduce odour problems on a large pig slurry lagoon which had, previously, received numerous complaints, via. the Environment Agency, from neighbours.  Following application of Aerocover the complaints virtually ceased and the Environment Agency were delighted and fully endorsed the application of the product.

Aerocover application has also enabled a pig farmer, near Knaresborough, to comply with IPPC regulations.

Aerocover has also been used to facilitate the granting of planning permission in a number of cases as it 'ticks all the boxes' for the relevant authorities.

Check out the article in the July issue of Pig World entitled 'No More Smell'

THE DAIRY EVENT 2011

We would like to invite old and new customers to visit us on stand No. SI 044 at The Dairy Event at the NEC Birmingham on 6th & 7th September 2011, where we will be sharing a stand with Midland Slurry Systems Ltd within the slurry and irrigation area.  Together with Midland Slurry Systems we will be able to offer advice on all aspects of slurry storage and management.

We will be bringing a sample of our exciting new product Aerocover and will be able to discuss the benefits of its usage and its effectiveness in reducing ammonia loss and odour emissions from stored slurry.

See you there!

NVZ Realization

As anticipated, Grassland & Muck 2011 turned out to be a very busy and successful show, both for ourselves and our agents Midland Slurry Systems Ltd with whom we shared a stand.  As there is now only 7 months left to comply with current NVZ storage regulations many orders were taken for slurry stores and Ameram Aeromixers and requests made for farm visits to advise on slurry storage and mixing.

There was also great interest shown in Aerocover, especially where odour was a problem.  The use of Aerocover can often help when applying for planning permission as perceived odour problems can often hinder or even prevent planning permission being granted.
